Wollongong is packed with adventure and activities ranging from surfing and swimming to sailing, hang gliding, paragliding, cycling and abseiling. What's more, Wollongong is the only place in NSW where you can sky dive onto the beach.
Jamberoo Action Park is the best fun with lots of water rides and other activities. The beaches are brilliant and the surfing, hang gliding and paragliding will get your heat racing. You can't miss Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk and the amazing falls of Carrington, Belmore and Fitzroy are breathtaking.
The Kiama Blowhole and all the attractions of the Southern Highlands are within reach and the Nan Tien Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere, is just 10 minutes' drive away. Wander through the pretty gardens and take a guided tour of the temple. There's some of the best regional art at Wollongong City Gallery with a special focus on colonial and early Australian art as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
