Halfway between Melbourne and Sydney, on the picturesque Murrumbidgee River, Wagga Wagga is a laid-back country NSW city, popular with bushwalkers, and nature lovers. As the major regional centre of the Riverina area and the largest inland city in NSW, Wagga Wagga is an important military, agricultural and transport hub.

Well-known for producing a disproportionately high number of great Australian sportsmen and women, Wagga Wagga has a Sporting Hall of Fame (part of the Museum of the Riverina), dedicated to the elite athletes from the area.
