IMPORTANT: CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS SUNDAY 12th JUNE 2022

The Cairns Airport Adventure Festival Ironman Cairns event is scheduled for Sunday 12 June 2022! Make sure you plan your route to or around the events, keeping in mind the changes to road conditions in your area.

Sunday,12 June: Access within Port Douglas will be open at all stages of the day. As the use of public roads is required for the event, changed traffic conditions and clearways must be enforced to ensure the safety of participants and volunteers. When planning your travel arrangements please ensure you leave plenty of time as traffic delays may occur. Download Port Douglas changed traffic conditions map and times. 

Bus Operators to Cairns
Will still run on Sunday 12 June via the Mulligan Hwy and Kennedy Hwy. Patrons are asked to allow 3 1/2 – 4 hours to get to Cairns on this day if travelling the alternate route.

CAR ROUTE

You cannot get to Port Douglas via the Captain Cook Highway on this day – you need to allow 3 ½ - 4 hours to get here or return to the airport via the Mulligan and Kennedy Highway.

Teamsters Park/ Willie Pye Memorial Park, Craiglie – Live Site Bike Turn
Teamsters Park will feature as a LIVE Site with entertainment, food and drink vendors on the bike course. Join the crowds to cheer on competitors as they do two laps on the bike towards Port Douglas. All businesses and restaurants will be open as usual on Sunday 12 June.
